Security Consultant JD of L3

Primary responsibility:

Provide real time monitoring and engineering support to all NPS Customers in the remediation of network security problems

Provide day to day supervision of the SOC. These responsibilities include meeting SLA’s and project scheduling timelines, in addition to transitioning projects to the Security Operations Centre (SOC) for on-going management and support

Primary responsibilities include:

Professional services advice on the installation and integration of network security devices

Technical consultation, including definition of network architectures, solving network anomalies, and re-engineering security solutions

Evaluation of security configurations and policies

Day to day supervision of the SOC and senior-level escalation and problem resolution for SOC and senior support engineers

Final decision making authority on escalated complaints and incident report writing

Daily and weekly ticket reviews ensuring team compliance with established resolution and escalation metrics

Continual development of technical and interpersonal skills through training and certification programs

Serving as security engineering subject matter experts

Mentoring both senior engineers and SOC engineers and coordinating technical training as required by existing skill sets and product mix

Supporting projects and requests that require senior-level security engineering support, including product development, sales, IT infrastructure, and corporate security policy

Occasionally training channel partners and internal staff

Assisting in the development of policies, standards and process

Performing technical customer service reviews

Leading evaluations of new software products and patches

Assist with scheduled employee reviews of SOC and senior engineers

VAPT experience is an added advantage

General Qualifications

Ability to travel, work flexible hours, and perform on call duties Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP-based networking

Excellent understanding of network and host security fundamentals and design principles

Strong interpersonal and customer service skills

Experience Necessary:

3+ years experience installing, configuring, and engineering security solutions

5+ years network security industry experience

Hands-on experience with advanced TCP/IP, security concepts, WAN and LAN concepts

Routing Protocols, firewall security policies, VPN technologies, PKI, and intrusion detection/prevention concepts

Hands-on experience with Windows, Solaris, Linux, and UNIX operating systems

Hands-on experience with industry leading security vendor platforms, including products from Cisco , Check Point, Juniper, Symantec, etc

Hands-on experience with industry leading network management platforms like Arc Sight, NetIQ, HP OpenView, etc..

Hands-on experience with industry leading security impact/vulnerability assessment products like NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager, Nessus, Qualys, eEye etc

Practical experience with process management and customer service processes and issues

Work Experience in SOC is

The following qualifications are recommended for Level 3 engineers. He/She should have at least two certification from this and or should have thorough understanding on other process and technical details.
